Car Parking in Council-run car parks in Morpeth and elsewhere in Northumberland is FREE

However there are time controls on the car parks – some are designated for up to three hours (with no return within four hours) and some are designated as all day car parks. There are also limited 30 minute on-street car parking bays.

These time controls are managed with a simple parking disk system. Any standard clock-dial parking disks from anywhere in the country are valid for use.

Where to buy a parking disk

Disks are available at a cost of £1 from parking meters, the Library, the Town Hall (not County Hall) and a limited number of town shops displaying a poster.

Additional Information:

If the maximum stay on your chosen car park is 3 hours, then the car park will be open from 8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday (including bank holidays.)

For car parks with the maximum stay listed as ‘all day’ (excluding Morpeth Railway Station), you can park for up to 24 hours (Monday to Sunday including bank holidays) but you must remove your vehicle for a period of 4 hours or more before returning

At Morpeth Railway Station – You can park for up to 72 hours (Monday to Sunday including bank holidays) but you must remove your vehicle for a period of 6 hours or more before returning.  Please note this is a pay and display car park.

Time limit applies to all types of parking bay
