Summer may be coming to an end but we thought for those last few summer nights you would like some summer drink recommendations. We headed to the amazing Grape & Grain on Bridge Street to get Mark’s expert opinion and his recommendations on what drinks compliment a warm summer evening.
- Tropicala
For those looking for beer at the end of a hot day then Tropicala is one for you. They describe it as a “care-free stroll down a white sandy beach, your Hawaiian shirt flapping behind you”, a true taste of summer. With flavours of guava, mango and passionfruit you can be sure to enjoy this cold one with some friends.
- Auntsfield Sauvignon Blanc 2021
A classic. Fresh, zesty and full of fruit flavour. Imagine this chilled with your favourite range of snacks and you have a perfect summer evening planned. Made in New Zealand in the beautiful Southern Valleys, it truly is a wine you must try.
- Della Vite Prosecco Rose
A beautiful bottle to be shared with friends. This rose was recently reviewed in the Independent and was given 10/10 in its wine tasting. Created by the Delevigne sisters, who were looking to create a prosecco that was reminiscent of all the times they had spent together. Della Vite has an aromatic nose of freshly crushed wild berries and rhubarb, and chilled is so refreshing on warm nights.
- Jardim De Granito
This is a light red wine from Portugal with many red fruit flavours within it. It has a bright ruby colour and a truly satisfying feel. Key Grape and Grain recommendation: Serve this slightly chilled for the best taste.
- Ludovici Limoncello
Locally produced in Amble and coming from an old family recipe, Ludovici Limoncello is a wonderful drink to have this summer. Expertly handcrafted, this Limoncello remains a best seller at Grape and Grain.
