Northumberland Fair and Events group are putting together a farewell to summer festival on the Stanners on Sunday 1st September! The day will include a junior football tournament, food and drink stalls, market traders, fairground rides and so much more!
With the kids going back to school on Monday 2nd September, the team at Northumberland Fair and Events want to put together a final day of good family fun before normality returns. The day will begin at 10am with the kickoff of the first set of Under 8s in the junior football tournament at 11am.
The junior football tournament will comprise of Under 8 and Under 9 teams. The winners will receive trophies and medals to commemorate their day. It is £40 per team to enter and if you would like to take part in the junior football tournament, there are still spaces available. Get in contact with julia.marley@hotmail.co.uk here.
You will be able to enjoy a bite to eat when coming along to the Summer Festival. Visit the number of street food traders serving a range of delicious food for you to enjoy on the day. There will also be a number of market traders offering toys, crafts, sweet bakes and so much more. All the market stalls are provided by NE Markets, if you have any queries email dawn@nemarkets.com.
There will be plenty there for the kids to enjoy including fairground rides provided by Turner’s Funfair. Have the best time on a range of rides and bouncy castles, all before heading back to school on Monday. There will also be pony rides, based near the entrance of the festival.
Music is sorted with a number of talented buskers performing as well as Koast Radio providing the soundtrack to the brilliant day.
If you head past the clocktower on Oldgate, over the bridge you will be able to find the Summer Festival on your right. Come along, bring the whole family and enjoy this farewell to summer 2024!
